This Privacy Policy explains how GVO Sounds, trading as Jump Cut Audio ("we", "us" or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, stores and protects personal information when you visit jumpcutaudio.com, create an account, subscribe, license or download music, contact us, or otherwise use our services.

This Policy is designed to provide a consistent international standard of transparency. Local privacy laws may provide additional rights. Where a mandatory local rule provides greater protection than this Policy, that rule applies.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to information processed through the Jump Cut Audio website, accounts, subscriptions, licenses, downloads, playlists, customer support and direct marketing. It does not govern independent third-party websites, platforms or services that have their own privacy policies.

When a business customer provides personal information about its staff, clients or authorized users, that business is responsible for having a lawful basis to provide it to Jump Cut Audio. Jump Cut Audio may act as an independent controller for account, billing, licensing, security and legal-compliance information.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you provide

Account information: name, email address, password credentials or authentication identifiers, country and account preferences.

Billing and transaction information: billing name, billing address, country, VAT status or VAT number, subscription plan, payment status, invoices, transaction identifiers and refund information.

License and usage records: tracks streamed, licensed or downloaded; download dates; license tier; license-certificate number; project or channel information supplied by you; playlists, favorites and saved tracks.

Communications: support requests, complaints, copyright-claim details, survey responses and other correspondence.

Business information: company name, job title, client or agency status and information needed for professional, agency or custom licenses.

Marketing choices: newsletter subscription, promotional preferences and records of consent or opt-out.

3.2 Information collected automatically

Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, language, time zone and approximate location derived from IP address.

Activity information such as pages visited, buttons used, referring pages, session times, playback events, errors and interactions with the service.

Security information such as login attempts, fraud indicators, authentication events and system logs.

Cookie and similar-technology identifiers, subject to the choices described in our cookie controls and applicable law.

3.3 Information we do not intentionally collect

Jump Cut Audio does not intentionally request sensitive personal information such as health, biometric, genetic, precise geolocation, religious-belief or government-identity data. Please do not send such information unless it is strictly necessary and we have asked for it. Jump Cut Audio does not store complete payment-card numbers or card security codes; these are handled by the payment provider.

  • From payment, authentication, hosting, security and customer-support providers.
  • From a business, agency or client that creates or manages an authorized account for you.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests include operating a music-licensing service, preserving proof of licenses, preventing misuse, protecting artists and customers, improving the service and enforcing agreements. We consider whether those interests are overridden by your rights and expectations.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

Jump Cut Audio may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies. Strictly necessary technologies support login, security, shopping, payment, preferences and core service operation. They may be used without consent where permitted by law.

Analytics, personalisation or advertising technologies will be activated only after consent where consent is legally required. You may accept, reject or change non-essential cookie choices through the site's cookie settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing.

Jump Cut Audio does not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and does not sell personal information. If these practices change, Jump Cut Audio will update this Policy and provide any legally required opt-out mechanism before the change takes effect.

Browser "Do Not Track" signals do not have a universally agreed technical standard. Jump Cut Audio will honour legally recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, where required by applicable law.

7. Payments

Payments are processed by an independent payment-service provider. Jump Cut Audio receives limited transaction information, such as payment status, card type or last digits, billing country, transaction identifier and fraud indicators. The payment provider processes payment information under its own privacy notice and security obligations.

8. How we disclose information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Hosting, database, cloud-infrastructure and application-platform providers.
  • Payment processors, banks, tax providers and fraud-prevention providers.
  • Authentication, email-delivery, customer-support, analytics and security providers.
  • Professional advisers, including lawyers, accountants, auditors and insurers.
  • Artists, labels, publishers, distributors or rights administrators when reasonably necessary to verify a license or resolve a rights claim.
  • Government bodies, regulators, courts or law-enforcement authorities where legally required or necessary to protect legal rights.
  • A successor or prospective purchaser in connection with a merger, financing, sale, restructuring or transfer of the business, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.

Service providers may process information only for authorized purposes and under appropriate contractual and security obligations. Jump Cut Audio does not disclose personal information to third parties in exchange for money.

9. International transfers

Jump Cut Audio is based in the Netherlands, but some service providers may process information in other countries. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from those where you live.

Where required, Jump Cut Audio uses recognized transfer safeguards, such as an adequacy decision, approved standard contractual clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or other lawful mechanisms. 10. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including legal, tax, accounting, security and licensing needs.

Information may be deleted, anonymised or aggregated earlier. Backup copies may remain for a limited period until overwritten through normal backup cycles.

11. Security

Jump Cut Audio uses reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access. Measures may include access controls, authentication, encryption in transit, provider due diligence, backups, logging and restricted administrative access.

No online service is completely secure. You are responsible for using a strong, unique password and protecting your account credentials. Please notify us promptly if you believe your account or personal information has been compromised.

Where required by law, Jump Cut Audio will notify affected individuals and relevant authorities of a qualifying personal-data breach.

12. Your privacy rights

Depending on your location and subject to legal exceptions, you may have the right to:

  • Access or obtain a copy of your personal information.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Delete personal information.

You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law. We may require proof of the agent's authority and may ask you to verify your identity directly. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. If we deny a request, we will explain the reason and any available appeal or complaint process.

13. Regional information

13.1 European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland

Individuals in these regions may exercise the rights described above under applicable data-protection law. You may also complain to the supervisory authority where you live or work, or where you believe an infringement occurred. Jump Cut Audio's lead supervisory authority in the Netherlands is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Jump Cut Audio does not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects. If this changes, we will provide the information and safeguards required by law.

13.2 United States

Residents of California and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws may have rights to know, access, correct, delete or obtain a portable copy of personal information, and to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising or certain profiling. Jump Cut Audio does not sell personal information, does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and does not use it for targeted advertising as those terms are defined by applicable US state privacy laws.

During the preceding 12 months, Jump Cut Audio may have collected the categories described in Section 3 and disclosed them for the business purposes described in Sections 5 and 8. Jump Cut Audio has not knowingly sold or shared the personal information of consumers under 16.

Some US state laws apply only after statutory business-size or processing thresholds are met. Jump Cut Audio will honour applicable rights where the relevant law applies and may voluntarily honour reasonable requests more broadly.

13.3 Canada

Individuals in Canada may request access to and correction of personal information and may challenge Jump Cut Audio's compliance. Where Canadian law requires consent, Jump Cut Audio will seek meaningful consent appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the reasonable expectations of the individual. Consent may be withdrawn subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.

13.4 Brazil

Individuals in Brazil may exercise rights available under the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), including confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymisation, blocking or deletion where applicable, portability, information about sharing, withdrawal of consent and review of certain automated decisions. 13.5 Australia and New Zealand

Individuals in Australia and New Zealand may request access to and correction of personal information and may complain about its handling. Jump Cut Audio will take reasonable steps to investigate and respond. Cross-border disclosures will be managed using safeguards required by applicable law.

13.6 Other locations

If the law where you live provides additional mandatory rights, you may contact us to exercise them. Jump Cut Audio will apply those rights where the law applies to our processing.

14. Marketing communications

You may unsubscribe from promotional email by using the unsubscribe link in the message or emailing info@jumpcutaudio.com. You may still receive non-promotional communications concerning your account, transactions, licenses, security or material service changes.

15. Children

Jump Cut Audio is not directed to children under 16 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. A person under 18 should use the service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.

If you believe a child has provided personal information without the required permission, contact info@jumpcutaudio.com. We will investigate and delete the information where required.

16. Third-party services and links

The service may contain links to YouTube, social networks, payment providers or other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Jump Cut Audio is not responsible for independent third-party processing, although we select service providers and contractual safeguards as required for processing performed on our behalf.

17. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the service, technology, law or our practices. The revised version will display a new "Last updated" date. We will provide additional notice where a change is material or consent is legally required. We will not use previously collected personal information for a materially incompatible new purpose without providing required notice and obtaining consent where required.
